How to Make a Small Space Feel Upscale!
Share
Having a small space or even a tiny space can be liberating, contrary to popular belief. The space can be cozy, warm, and just right for a lot of people. But having a tiny space doesn't have to equal having a boring a space. You have to learn to use what you have. Here's a few tips to create a cute and quaint space:
1) Use light-colored furniture- Using light colored furniture always the eye to focus on the room as a whole instead of the juxtaposition of the furniture in comparison to the room size. There can be variation, but the light-colored furniture (against light colored walls) helps for everything to sort of melt together and give the room a more spacious appearance.
2) Use smaller sized furniture- Using smaller furniture appropriate to the size of the room gives the room a more spacious and well-appointed feeling. Thankfully, a lot of retailers now carry furniture appropriate for smaller sized rooms, apartments, and even dorm rooms. Don't be shame to shop in those sections and find some beautiful pieces just perfect for your rooms. 3) Decorate using Mirrors- Nothing tricks the eye better than using mirrors to make a room feel double the size. I'm not talking about getting the 1980s floor to ceiling mirror walls installed. (Unless you are that kind of hippy, rock on.) But if you get beautiful, modern mirrors to hang on the walls, they should do the trick. Mirrors are chic and relatively inexpensive, go for it!
